The ARS DB Link to External Database is licensed per Remedy ARS server per database vendor connection.  A license permits unlimited number of connections for a particular database vendor.  For example, a license for a Microsoft SQL Server version will permit creation of an unlimited number of vendor form connections from one ARS server to an unlimited number of Microsoft SQL Server databases.

How many licenses do I need to buy if I wanted to connect to 5 different Oracle databases and 10 Microsoft SQL databases from a development ARS server and a production ARS server?

A. You will need a total of four licenses. More specifically, you will need two developer version licenses (one for Oracle and one for Microsoft SQL) for the development ARS server and two production version licenses (one for Oracle and one for Microsoft SQL).

How do I license servers in a server group?

A. Each ARS server that has a Remedy plug-in will require a proper license for each database vendor connection.

How do I license multiple ARS instances on one physical server?

A. Each ARS instance that requires the plug-in fuctionality will require a license.
